The Quality Alliance Steering Committee is co-chaired by Carolyn Clancy, MD, and Mark McClellan, MD, PhD.
 
Dr. Clancy is director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and previously served as the Agency’s Acting Director and Director of the Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research.
 
Dr. McClellan is director of the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform and holds the Leonard D. Schaeffer Chair in Health Policy Studies at the Brookings Institution, and is a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. He formerly served as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.
