Debra Ness
Debra L. Ness is the President of the National Partnership for Women & Families. Her extensive background in health and public policy make her a remarkably effective advocate with a deep understanding of what women and families need at home, in the workplace, and in the health care arena. She is a highly respected and oft-quoted expert who testifies frequently before Congress, speaks before prestigious audiences, and is quoted regularly in leading print and broadcast media.
Ness serves on the boards of some of the nation’s most influential organizations working to improve health care. She sits on the Boards of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the National Quality Forum (NQF), and the ABIM Foundation. She co-chairs the Consumer-Purchaser Disclosure Group and sits on the Steering Committee of the AQA and on the QASC, co-chairing the QASC Cost/Price Transparency Working Group. She serves on the eHealth Initiative’s Leadership Council and on the Steering Group for the Markle Foundation’s Connecting for Health Collaborative. Ness also serves on the board of the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) and on the Executive Committee of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR), co-chairing LCCR’s Health Task Force.
