Current Efforts of Regional and National Performance Measurement Initiatives Around the United States
Performance measurement and public reporting have been identified as potential levers to improve health care quality and reduce costs. In their article, "Current Efforts of Regional and National Performance Measurement Initiatives Around the United States," Joachim Roski and Min Gayles Kim recommend that a framework and approach be formulated for generating nationally consistent and locally adaptable performance information for communities across the United States. This would allow better coordination of promising regional initiatives to improve their impact and reduce operating cost and burden.
